There is a sweetness in the world
It smells of apricots and early morning dreams
It brings a message that hums in your veins
And watches you with care

You will have to give up on despair
Greet wonder and a softening sky
The day has spoken
The word is ‘yes’
And the answer is a great green now.

Today’s the day for quiet steps
For padding in socks on cushioned floors
For tiny naps and cups of warmth

Keep worries brief
Let pleasure in
in smallest measure

It is a shy sweet day
The world is turning green again
The middle-aged grow young
Scratch whitened heads
and smile at fate

Not everything is right
But wrong is on the lam
The little thoughts are sturdier
And candles last beyond their time

So dance a little dance
And never mind the darkening sky
For the world grows green
And dry leaves are all swept
in pretty piles
